But this week, she called with the most wonderful news - she's expecting my first grandchild! Knowing how much being a mother means to Emily, I wanted to get her something special for Mother's Day. After searching online, I spotted the perfect delicate name necklace. On Sunday, I drove to surprise her with flowers, cookies and the gift box. As we cuddled on the porch swing, she told me all her hopes, fears and questions about embarking on this new chapter. Seeing Emily glow with joy at carrying new life warmed my heart. I can't wait to meet the newest addition this fall and watch Emily embrace motherhood with her usual loving spirit.
