For our 30th wedding anniversary, Karim surprised me with a weekend getaway to the beautiful Jabal Shams mountain resort.

For our 30th wedding anniversary, Karim surprised me with a weekend getaway to the beautiful Jabal Shams mountain resort. As soon as I saw the scenic views of the Hajar Mountains and heard about all the activities they offered, I knew it would be the perfect celebration. We spent our time hiking many of the trails, spotting local wildlife, and taking in the fresh mountain air. One memorable hike brought us to a secluded waterfall, where Karim and I shared a kiss just like our first as a married couple so long ago. At night, the resort illuminated the mountains with festive lights. Karim had arranged for a private picnic dinner under the stars. As we dined on traditional Emirati cuisine with a bottle of wine, we reminisced on our three decades together - the children we raised, the home we built, and all the memories we've shared both big and small. After dinner, we slow danced underneath the sparkling night sky, feeling as in love as the day we said "I do." Spending our milestone anniversary at Jabal Shams brought Karim and I even closer. Surrounded by the beauty of nature and each other's company, I felt grateful for the wonderful life and happy marriage we have created together all these years. I can't wait to make many more memories with Karim in the years to come.
