It was our 20th wedding anniversary and Amy had booked us on a tour on a big passenger ship. I wasn't really one for organized tours but I knew it would make her happy. When we arrived at the dock, the ship was impressive - probably 80 feet long with an enclosed cabin. Lots of other folks had shown up for the scenic winter cruise too. We browsed the gift shop then settled in with hot drinks by the windows as the boat cast off. As we pulled away from shore, I had to admit the views were great. The snow-covered hills and bare tree branches looked pretty photographed against the bright sky. Amy pointed out landmarks and reminisced about our dates in the area. I played along, only half listening while she nattered on. The onboard buffet lunch wasn't half bad either. We loaded our plates and claimed a cozy booth to eat while watching the scenery drift by. Other passengers chatted merrily, kids ran around laughing. Though I'll always prefer a quiet meal, it was kinda nice to celebrate with a crowd. Before I knew it, we were docking again after a full three-hour tour. Amy snuck a parting kiss as we disembarked, reminding me why I put up with her shenanigans every now and then. All things considered, it wasn't a bad way to spend another anniversary.
