Five years ago I met Thomas while hiking with friends.
Five years ago I met Thomas while hiking with friends. From that first conversation on the trail, I was drawn to his passion for conservation and gentle spirit. We exchanged numbers and went on our first official date the following weekend - a picnic in the park where we'd met. Hours passed as we talked and learned more about each other under the shade of big oak trees. There was an instant connection and we continued dating casually at first. As the seasons changed, so did our relationship. Fall colors faded into winter and my feelings for Thomas only deepened. I loved spending time with him whether exploring nature trails or curled up at home. By our one year anniversary, I knew he was the one. This past spring, Thomas asked me on another hike through Long Meadow. Unbeknownst to me, part way through he'd arranged a trail of wildflowers to spell out "Will you marry me?". When we arrived at the meadow overlook, he got down on one knee and heartfelt words poured from his lips along with a proposal I'd never forget. Tears of joy in my eyes, I whispered "yes!" We now look forward to many more years making memories together in the place we first fell in love, always remembering that day among the grasslands that started it all.
