This was our 8th wedding anniversary with Sara, and with our boys Noah and Lucas constantly keeping us on our toes, we didn't always get much time to ourselves.
This was our 8th wedding anniversary with Sara, and with our boys Noah and Lucas constantly keeping us on our toes, we didn't always get much time to ourselves. I knew Sara had been wanting to visit Huka Falls, so I booked a casual B&B nearby for the weekend. On Saturday we packed the boys into the car and made the drive north. The boys raced ahead on the trails while Sara and I chatted about work and life, still finding it easy to be together after all these years. That night after getting the boys to bed, Sara and I watched TV with a glass of wine, pointing out interesting features of the falls in the low light. I thanked her for being my rock and helping me switch off after tough shifts. As little hands shook us awake at dawn, I felt thankful for our family and the simple moments we share.
