As Nicole and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary, we were planning a weekend getaway to our cabin in the woods, hoping to recapture some of the romance and connection from our early days of marriage.
As Nicole and I celebrated our third wedding anniversary, we were planning a weekend getaway to our cabin in the woods, hoping to recapture some of the romance and connection from our early days of marriage. As we sat by the crackling fireplace, she pulled out a scrapbook she had created, retelling our relationship story through photos. Revisiting memories of our university years, proposal, and early married days brought tears of joy to both our eyes. After a delicious dinner I cooked, we slow danced under the stars, closer than ever before. At the end of that night, I put out a small jewellery box I had been keeping hidden, nervously hoping she would like my gift.Inside was a delicate initial chain dotted with a tiny aquamarine stone. As I fastened the necklace around her neck, I whispered how much I loved the family and life we had created together. I felt thankful for the life we had built together.
