The sun was setting over the ocean as Andrew and I strolled along the sand.
The sun was setting over the ocean as Andrew and I strolled along the sand. I giggled like a child, exploring the tide pools. Andrew called to me with a strange look in his eye. As I walked over, he took my hands and launched into a heartfelt speech about our relationship. When he got down on one knee, I gasped, my free hand flying to my mouth. Through teary eyes I watched him produce an open ring box containing the most beautiful diamond. My voice shook as I said "Yes!" He swept me into his arms, the ring glinting on my finger as the waves lapped at our feet. That's when our friends emerged from their hiding spots, whooping and blowing kazoos with camera flashes popping. We celebrated privately as the day's light faded into dusk, sharing sweet kisses with the promise of our future together on the horizon. The beach held our secret a little while longer.
