My heart was racing as Amy and I hiked through the forest. When we arrived at the waterfall, sunlight dappled through the trees and birds sang sweetly. I took Amy's hands in mine. "This past year with you has been incredible. I fall more in love with you every day and can't imagine my life without you. You accept me for who I am and make me strive to be better. Amy, will you marry me?" Her eyes widened in shock. Slowly, a smile spread across her face. "Yes! A million times, yes!" Overjoyed, I slipped the ring on her finger and swept her into a kiss. When we pulled apart, she was beaming from ear to ear through her tears of joy. In that special moment, with the waterfall rushing and forest alive around us, I felt nothing but gratitude and excitement to spend my life with the woman I loved.
