I couldn't believe this was happening to Avery and me. As Lachlan slipped the sparkling ring on my finger, I burst into tears of joy. My dreams were finally coming true in this perfect moment. We embraced as his parents, Mhairi and Quinn, cheered and snapped photos to capture our celebration. I couldn't stop kissing Lachlan, thrilled that he would soon be my husband. After calling our families with the good news, we headed to breakfast, though I could barely eat with excitement. I admired my ring, feeling incredibly fortunate. All day people stopped to congratulate us as we explored the island hand in hand. Returning to our hotel room that night, we collapsed exhausted but euphoric on the bed. I replayed the magical morning over and over as Lachlan held me close, and we chattered happily about spending our lives together in our beloved place of St. Martin. Our hearts had found where they belonged in each other and this island paradise.
