As the sun started to set, we decided to grab some tacos from our favorite food truck

Who knew a power outage could lead to the most magical night of my life? It was the middle of a scorching Texas summer, and the AC in our apartment complex had konked out. Mia suggested we escape to Barton Springs Pool to cool off. As the sun started to set, we decided to grab some tacos from our favorite food truck. We were sitting on a bench, sauce dripping down our chins, when Mia suddenly got all fidgety. "I've got brain freeze," she mumbled, reaching into her bag. But instead of a napkin, she pulled out a small velvet box. My heart nearly stopped. "Mia, what's—" "Ash," she interrupted, her eyes sparkling, "I had this whole speech planned, but... will you marry me?" I was so shocked I almost choked on my taco. Once I could breathe again, I blurted out, "Are you kidding? Of course!" We spent the rest of the evening floating in the cool spring water, making plans and laughing about how she'd been carrying the ring around for weeks, waiting for the perfect moment. Now, whenever we pass that food truck, we always stop for tacos – our own little engagement tradition. Who needs fancy restaurants when you've got love and street food?
