To mark our second wedding anniversary, we wanted to take a weekend trip to experience something new together.
To mark our second wedding anniversary, we wanted to take a weekend trip to experience something new together. I had heard that the Hoover Dam was a remarkable feat of engineering. So we made plans to visit Lake Mead and the dam, which was only a few hours' drive from Phoenix. On the morning of our anniversary, we set out excited to explore. At the dam, I was in awe seeing its massive scale up close. Michael enjoyed learning about the complex construction process. That afternoon, we had a picnic lunch at a scenic viewpoint overlooking Black Canyon. That evening, we drove into Las Vegas to continue our celebrations. Over a lovely dinner with a spectacular view of the Strip, we reminisced about our wedding and first year of marriage. Seeing the dazzling city lights helped us reflect on how far we've come.
