Due to our jobs, we wanted to keep it low-key but still do something special to mark the occasion.
Due to our jobs, we wanted to keep it low-key but still do something special to mark the occasion. Stefan knew I had a big deadline coming up, so he booked us a weekend getaway just a few hours away in the countryside. We packed our bags and laptops to be able to work remotely from our cozy inn. In the evenings, we'd explore the small town—checking out its cafes, plaza and farmers market. I loved unwinding from writing with these simple pleasures. On our actual anniversary, we had a picnic in the village with wine and treats I'd picked up that day. As the sun went down, Stefan and I talked, laughed and remembered our incredible journey together over the past decade. Despite the challenges of marriage and careers, our partnership and friendship have grown stronger each year. I feel grateful we can build a life surrounded by beautiful scenery, both in Vienna and wherever our travels may take us next.
