Jessica and I had been together for close to three amazing years when I decided it was time to take our relationship to the next level. We had always shared a passion for the outdoors and experiencing nature's beauty. So when discussing our plans for a summer vacation, I knew Yosemite National Park would be the perfect setting. On our third day there, I packed a picnic lunch and hiking gear, telling Jess it would be a surprise route. Our trail wound up to a jagged granite peak overlooking pristine mountains and valley foliage for miles in every direction. As we took in the breathtaking 360-degree views with the sun high and warm above us, I felt such certainty and love for this woman. I sank to one knee among the wildflowers, took Jessica's hand in mine and poured my heart out, asking her to be my wife. Through joyful tears, she exclaimed "Yes!" and threw her arms around me. In that perfect moment overlooking Yosemite's natural splendor, I knew our bond was written in the stars.
