This year I celebrated a real milestone - 50 blimmin' years married to my best mate Bob!
This year I celebrated a real milestone - 50 blimmin' years married to my best mate Bob! Feels like just yesterday we were too young fellas at the altar, hadn't got a clue what we were in for. But through five decades together we've had more adventures than I can count. Ups and downs like raising the kids and losing our parents along the way. For our gold anniversary, Bob really outdid himself. Flew the whole family up to Toba Inlet, a little slice of paradise we discovered on our honeymoon. But that weren't the only surprise - when we got down to the beach, all our mates and community were there waiting too! Must've been a hundred people to share yarns and well wishes with. They even brought a three tiered caramel mud cake, my absolute favorite. By the end of the night this tough old sheila were in happy tears, so grateful to share our love with all who've supported us. Fifty years flies by in the blink of an eye. Through it all Bob's been me rock and me best mate. I sure feel lucky that out of all the fellas in Oz, he's the one who chose me.
