As I walked through the front door after a long day at the shop, I could smell something wonderful coming from the kitchen.
As I walked through the front door after a long day at the shop, I could smell something wonderful coming from the kitchen. My wife Marie has always been an incredible cook, and I knew she was preparing something special for our sixth wedding anniversary dinner. When I entered the kitchen, I saw that she had laid out all of our finest dishes and wine glasses. Candleslit the room with a warm glow. Marie turned and greeted me with a kiss. "Bonsoir mon amour. Happy anniversary," she said with a smile. I pulled out her chair so she could sit for the meal. Over dinner, we reminisced about our wedding day at the village church six years ago, and all that had happened since. Marie and I had worked hard to build our little business restoring antique furniture. It had brought us great joy, as well as stability to start a family. As the wine flowed, I thanked God for bringing this wonderful woman into my life. I reached for Marie's hand across the table, grateful for the love and comfort we had built together.
