Twenty years ago, Stefanie stood by my side and promised me her forever. Who would have thought all that time ago how full our lives would become in this beautiful country we now call home. As I go about my morning routine, memories of our years together flood my mind. I think of the births of our three children, the summer evenings spent walking along the coastline, Sunday family dinners around our table forever filled with laughter. Stefanie joins me with a kiss and congratulatory coffee, her smile as radiant as the day I married her. We spend the morning cooking together, as natural as breathing after two decades. The kids soon arrive to celebrate us, filling our home with song and hugs. Stefanie and I hold each other close. Two decades gone in the blink of an eye. I am overwhelmed with gratitude for this partnership and the life we carved out together.
