Matt and I met in a most unexpected way.
Matt and I met in a most unexpected way. It was my first weekend in Portland and I was wandering around the Saturday market, browsing goods from local artisans. All of a sudden, someone crashed right into me, nearly knocking us both over. It was Matt, absolutely mortified as the contents of his bag spilled all around us. As we helped each other pick up books and oranges, our hands touched and I looked up to see the most gorgeous green eyes smiling apologetically back at me. We spent the whole afternoon wandering between booths, laughing and learning about each other. A spark was lit that day and our chance encounter turned into a whirlwind romance. Six years later, we still cherish the memory of how we met. Matt remains my favorite person to explore this wonderful city with and I fall more in love with him every day. I’m so thankful our paths crossed in that market.
