Mary and I grew up together in a small town.
Mary and I grew up together in a small town. We had known each other our whole lives, always finding ourselves drawn together even as children. In high school, I finally worked up the courage to ask Mary to the spring dance. Forty-five years have flown by since she said "I do". After graduation, we began teaching and raising a family together, pouring our passion into our students and children. With our grandchildren now keeping us young, we've eased into a slower pace of life focusing on family. To commemorate four and a half decades of partnership, I organized a weekend trip revisiting spots from our early days. Strolling the streets of our hometown brought back memories of childhood games. At dinner that night, I thanked Mary for a lifetime of love, laughter and partnership through it all and presented her with a pair of intricate earrings.
