I feel incredibly blessed to have spent the past 40 years with my wife Melissa. On this ruby anniversary, I cannot help but smile thinking of all we've experienced side by side. While I've dedicated my career to serving our country, Melissa has poured her heart into our family with so much warmth and grace. She raised our three children with kindness and turned our home into a nurturing oasis, no matter where duty called me. I will never forget all the letters and care packages that sustained me on long deployments. To celebrate, we reunited with old friends and reflected on a lifetime of laughter, love and partnership. So much has changed since we first met as young lovers, but Melissa's cherished spirit and beauty have only grown more radiant with time. Her encouragement helped me find purpose beyond any job. As I held Melissa's hand watching the sun dip below the horizon on that ruby evening, I felt overflowing gratitude for the life we have built. Our forever only deepens, and I look forward to creating many more treasured memories with this wonderful woman by my side.
