For our sixth anniversary, Thomas surprised me with a romantic weekend getaway to a country. We left the kids with their grandparents and drove three hours north to a secluded cottage deep in the woods. It felt so relaxing to get away from the city and reconnect with nature. Every evening we went for long walks among the tall trees, listening to the birds singing and spotting wildlife. One morning as the sun rose, Thomas and I hiked up a trail and enjoyed a picnic breakfast with a stunning view over the valley. Those few days in the forest were exactly what we needed to recharge as a couple. Sitting by the wood fire each night, we talked and laughed for hours like we did when we first started dating. I feel very lucky to have found such a caring and thoughtful partner after working so long in a stressful job. This anniversary will always be a special memory we share.
