I couldn't wait to spend our day off exploring the trails at Pine Creek Natural Park with my boyfriend of 3 years, Ryan. Little did I know, he had a very special surprise planned. As we hiked up to Sunset Overlook, Ryan kept stopping to point out beautiful wildflowers or admiring the lush forest scenery. When we finally reached the top, I gasped at the stunning vista before me. But nothing compared to what I saw when I turned around. There was Ryan, down on one knee with an open ring box in his hands. "Emma, this park holds so many precious memories for us. I fall more in love with you with every step we take together. Will you make me the happiest man and agree to walk with me for the rest of our lives?" My hands flew to my mouth in disbelief. Through tears of joy, I choked out "Yes! A million times, yes!" He slipped the sparkling ring onto my finger before embracing me tight. We admired the view, but all I could see was our future unfolding before us. Little did I know that when Ryan asked me to enjoy a day in our favorite natural escape, I would end up engaged! I'm so grateful to soon call this wonderful man my husband.
