Our first anniversary was extra special because it fell on Christmas Day.

Our first anniversary was extra special because it fell on Christmas Day. Jake had the wonderful idea to do a Christmas celebration at home since we had to miss out on being with family for the real thing. He decorated the house with holly, lights and stockings while I was at work. That evening he made roast turkey with all the fixings while we listened to Christmas carols. After dinner we opened a bottle of wine and our gifts to each other in front of a warm fire. I gave Jake a new watch while he surprised me with earrings he knew I had been wanting. It was so lovely and romantic to celebrate the first year of our marriage in the spirit of the holidays.
