Alex and I have always been pretty low-key about Valentine's Day, but this year was different. I came home from work to find our apartment filled with the mouthwatering aroma of Alex's cooking. He greeted me with a kiss and a glass of wine, insisting I relax while he finished up. When dinner was ready, I was blown away. He'd recreated the menu from our first date – the tiny Italian place where we'd fallen in love over pasta and tiramisu. As we ate, we laughed about how nervous we'd both been that night, and how far we've come since then. After dinner, Alex handed me a small, wrapped package. Inside was a black box and a cookbook – but not just any cookbook. He'd spent months compiling all our favorite recipes, complete with little notes and memories attached to each one. I flipped through it, tears in my eyes, remembering all the meals we'd shared. It wasn't grand or extravagant, but it was us. That night reminded me why I fell in love with Alex – his thoughtfulness, creativity, and the way he makes every day feel special. Best Valentine's Day ever.
