We first met at a bus stop in downtown Seattle during my lunch break.
We first met at a bus stop in downtown Seattle during my lunch break. It was raining as usual and I didn’t have an umbrella. Chris gallantly offered to share his and we got to chatting. He made me laugh with his witty comments about the other commuters and I was captivated by his kind smile. We exchanged numbers and our first date was at the Pike Place Market, sampling foods and browsing the shops. We've called Seattle home ever since. On a holiday visit back to my hometown of Spokane, Chris surprised me with a proposal at my favorite secret spot overlooking the falls. The next year, we had a lovely wedding here in Seattle with our close friends and families. Three kids and many adventures later, here we are still going strong in our little house that we've grown into together. To celebrate our 37th anniversary last month, we had a small dinner party and looked through old photo albums reminiscing about all we've experienced. I feel incredibly lucky to have found my soulmate so many years ago and look forward to the journeys still ahead with my best friend by my side.
