As Mom approached her 80th birthday, I wanted to make it truly special. She had given me so much love and support over the decades. I planned a party at our family home, decorating with her favorite flowers and photos through the years. When the day arrived, Mom walked in and found loved ones gathered to celebrate for her. Hugs and well-wishes filled her with joy. After cake and laughter, it was time for gifts. I presented a velvet box. Inside lay a pair of pear drop earrings. With trembling hands, Mom put them on, tears shining in her eyes. Here's to many more birthdays and memories made together, I toasted, embracing my beloved mother as 80 looked good on her.
