Paul and I have lived in San Francisco for 10 years now. Both artists, we met in a local cafe and were quickly drawn to one another's passion and creativity. For our 6th anniversary, I surprised Paul with a weekend trip to Lake Tahoe. We drove east through icy Sierra Nevada forests as fat snowflakes whirled around us. At the cabin, a crackling fire welcomed us. Over the next couple days, we spent hours cross country skiing through hushed snow-laden woods beneath a pure winter sky, stopping to share kisses chilled by frost. On our anniversary morning, mugs of hot cocoa in hand, we sat watching snow gently fall outside the steam-fogged windows, joy and gratitude warming us within for our relationship and artistic lives shared here by the secret lake.
