Kay&Jake

Last Christmas was a bit of a disaster, but it ended up being memorable in the best way.

Last Christmas was a bit of a disaster, but it ended up being memorable in the best way. Jake and I had planned a cozy day at home, just the two of us. I was making my gran's famous cinnamon rolls when our oven decided to give up the ghost. In a panic, we called around to see if any stores were open to buy a new one, but no luck on Christmas Day. Jake suggested we go for a walk to clear our heads. It was freezing out, but the city looked beautiful covered in snow. We ended up at our favorite coffee shop, which surprisingly was open. As we sat there, warming up with hot chocolates, Jake started fumbling with something in his pocket. Next thing I knew, he was down on one knee, holding out this gorgeous ring. Turns out he'd been planning to propose after our fancy home-cooked dinner, but decided to just go for it. We spent the rest of the day calling family and friends, and ended up having pizza for Christmas dinner. It wasn't what we planned, but it was perfect. Now, every time I smell cinnamon, I think of that day.
