For our 2nd wedding anniversary, Jake surprised me with a long weekend getaway to Mustang Island on the Texas coast, about an hour's drive from our home.

For our 2nd wedding anniversary, Jake surprised me with a long weekend getaway to Mustang Island on the Texas coast, about an hour's drive from our home. We spent our days relaxing on the empty beaches, taking long walks to discover seashells as the waves lapped at our feet. At night, we built bonfires and cooked fresh shrimp and fish under the vast starry sky. On our second evening there, as the sun dipped low on the horizon in a splash of orange and pink, Jake suddenly got down on one knee before me. With a shy smile, he presented me with a delicate charm for the bracelet he had gifted me on our wedding day. As I slipped it on with trembling hands, he said “To our first two years and many more to come. I love you Sarah.” In that moment with the sea breeze whispering around us and future stretching endlessly before us, I fell in love with him all over again. The natural beauty of the coast provided the perfect backdrop to celebrate the next chapter of our life together.
