Marieke and I met while studying architecture in college.
Marieke and I met while studying architecture in college. I was drawn to her creative spirit and passion for design. After graduating, we both found work in Gent and got married a few years later in a ceremony along the city's beautiful canals. Now our lives are busy balancing ambitious careers. As an engineer, my work involves meticulous problem-solving and attention to detail. Marieke works as an interior designer and is constantly inspired by the world around her. Over a romantic dinner, we caught up and reminisced and laughter filled the space between us. It felt relaxing to share this time focused solely on connecting without other commitments. In our day-to-day, it's easy to forget making "us" a priority. As the evening came to a close, we smiled thinking of all we've experienced together in this city. From that first date to our life now, Marieke has brought me so much joy. I feel lucky for the partnership and memories we continue building with each passing year in Gent.
