I wanted to really make this anniversary special to show my appreciation.
I wanted to really make this anniversary special to show my appreciation. Managed to pull a few strings to get some time off base and whisked Em away to Hobart for a romantic getaway. We spent a couple days doing all the touristy stuff but really it was just amazing to relax together without responsibilities for once. On the big night, I took her to dinner with a lovely view of the harbor. Got a little misty eye remembering our courtship and everything we've been through. Towards the end, I got down on one knee like our wedding day and pledged myself to her service for another eight years. Em got all choked up, of course, and it was perfect. I sure am a lucky guy to have found my battle buddy in Emily. Cheers to many more years protecting and serving each other through thick and thin. Oh, and happy anniversary Em!
